* Up until 98/99 points were awarded 2 for a win 1 for a draw in all European matches as well as bonus points for reaching the latter stages of the Champions league, Cup winners cup and UEFA Cup. At the end of this season all points gained in qualifying matches in the previous 5 years were halved. It may be worth noting that if UEFA had not changed there rules then Scotland would have been 20th at end of 1998/99 and 12th at the end of 1999/00 season |
